1 They arc responsible for the cleanliness and tidiness of the ward

including surroundings of the ward, lavatories and bathrooms

2 They will make the patients' environment clean and tidy. They will

make bedding of the patients.

3 They will maintain ledgers relating to cquipment,all articles of the ward.

4 Articles of bedding or clothing used by patient of contagious or

infectious diseases should be disinfected before sending them to linen

Store or dhobi. Linen used by patients of tetanus, anthrax etc will be

kept and transmitted to ward master or burning with the consent of the

Hospital Secretary / Director

5 They will intimate to their respective Registrars every morning or

earliest convenience particulars of patients discharged, dead,

transferred or admitted during the previous day. They report should at

least contain the following information

(a) Name of patient (b) Date of admission , discharge, trans fer

or death (c) Department with unit (d) ward number (e) Bed number

() Physicians or Surgeons in-charge of the case (g) Signature of the

Staff Nurse.

6 They will report to Supervising Sister any act of negligence,

disobedience or breach of rules on the part of ward servants.

7 They will give call to doctor on duty in case of development of new

symptom or worsening condition of a patient. They will report to

supervising sister on duty if the doctors on duty is not available in

writing with signature

8 They will themselves or the Nurse put under them will give medicines

to the patients as per doctors prescription. They are responsible for

execution of all other instructions in relation to the patients care.

9 They will report to Supervising Sister any untoward incident that

Occurs in wards.

10 They will pay attention to the cleanli..ess and comfort of the patients

and will see that patients are properly çared for. They will also

supervise the diet to the patients and will make sustained effort in

keeping the ward free from unauthorized persons and untimely visitors.

They are dircctly responsible for the care and treatment of paticnts , ward administration and discipline.
